Just a quickie to let folks know about an upcoming Savory Institute offering, the first annual Western Regional Grazing Conference: Grazing for Change. This has largely been organized by our local Reno Savory Institute hub led by Abby and Spencer Smith. The paleo movement is not just about Bacon and Abz, it’s about finding long lasting solutions to our food and ecological needs. The loudest voices presently in the sustainable food story are the folks coming from the vegan/vegetarian camps. Although I think many of the ideas espoused from those folks are laudable, I think they miss the mark of reality on a number of topics. Organizations like the Savory Institute and Polyface Farms are where we (IMHO) need to focus effort and support.
