Been listening for 6 months or so… noticed in the Thrive market segment at the beginning that it says “orders over $49 are free in the continental US”… shouldn’t that be SHIPPING on orders over $49? Surely the whole order isn’t free? I checked back three episodes and they are all the same… Feel free to nuke my comment after you read it.

When my wife was pregnant with our 3rd child last year she failed the Fasting Glucose Test (FGT). She then had to go back and do another. When we finally met with the diabetes doc and he found out that we ate low carb/ paleo – he knew right away why she failed both tests and he was 95% confident she didn’t have Gestational Diabetes. But he was also worried about that 5%. Overall though he was a good doctor because he was open to other points of view and he had an understanding of how food affects blood sugar/ insulin.
The dietician we saw after the doctor was another story completely. She was older and would not recognize or acknowledge any of the things I pointed out. As a home birth midwife and Weston A. Price volunteer chapter leader, I was thrilled to buy a copy of your book, Lily. Working my way through it-THANK you! As I start my practice, I’m suggesting moms who have even one risk factor (high BMI, over 25 age, no previous GD, no hx poor outcome pregnancy, no first relative w/diabetes, non-white) add the A1C to their initial prenatal panel.
You made the comment, “Hopefully no women are having 50-76g of glucose in one sitting….”. The truth is, many are! They will toss down a Frappacinno or a Naked drink or a ‘healthy’ smoothie w/50,75g or MORE carbs frequently.
This is the reality of our culture and our demographics.
This was a great podcast, thank you, Robb for having Lily on.
