Here is an update from Brian at Potomac CrossFit:
Robb, just wanted to send another update and make sure people know that this stuff works! It’s Day 20 of my reduced carb Zone Diet and I’m down from 222 lbs to 206.5 lbs. I’d have never believed that anybody could lose weight this fast, not be hungry and still perform on the WODs. I’m now even with or beating all the guys in my box who used to crush me. Thanks amigo! I’m going to throw this on the front page. For everybody else out there: Buy “42 Ways to Skin the Zone” and do it!
Here is a link to 42 Ways to Skin the Zone. For you cheap bastards who do not want to shell out the $2.50 for the article, read my FAQ and you will find a brief description of how to modify the Zone.

Cheap bastards? no way….I went all out and bought the Robb Wolf Collection 😉

Hey Robb-
I’ve been trying for days to buy your articles, but for some reason catalyst athletics won’t accept mastercard, or bank accounts so I can’t buy, is it being sold elsewhere?
Thanks,
BEE

Hey Robb, just wanted to check in and update you on my progress.
I’ve been hovering around 207 for about 6 weeks now, can’t seem to break much below that. I floated back up to 212 about 2 weeks ago and had to go super strict on carb intake (little to no fruit or sweet potatoes) and fat (counting cooking oils) to get back down to 207.
But here I sit, and using the tape measure method, still at around 13-15% BF.
I’ve seen great results with this and we’ve got about 40 people at our box doing your plan off of “42 Ways to Skin the Zone” (and blogging about it, see links here: http://www.google.com/reader/shared/08181245463598597505) but I feel like I have to tweak something but don’t know what it is.
Here’s the basic stats:
m/30/6’1/207
Block Prescription: 17P/9C/41F
I’ve started to cycle down the carbs on my rest days as well. My food log is here (http://spreadsheets.google.com/pub?key=pDr8kw539tzoFeDsEbR-qMg) but I don’t expect you to look at it, I know you’re busy.
My WODs have continued to be super-solid, with new PRs all the time. My sleep is also solid, with 8+ hours almost every night. Plus 12x1000mg Fish Oil/day.
Any tweaks are greatly greatly appreciated!! But please, don’t spend too much time on this, if it’s just “suck it up and keep doing it” I’m fine with that.

Brian-
Lighter on the carbs on non-training days is a good option…just keep an eye on recovery and performance. Throw some ZMA into your last two meals…how much of your protein is coming from dairy?
Brian PCF says
Zero dairy Robb, all meat. I do eat fattier cuts of meat, but I count those fat blocks towards my daily totals.
Rgr on ZMA.
