The Position:
We are looking for a new trainer to teach a mix of group fitness classes and personal training clients. Trainers have the opportunity to build a large personal training clientele, and are assisted in this by management (walk-ins and calls will be referred to you when appropriate, but we do not guarantee personal training clients). Trainers are largely responsible for generating their own Personal training clientele. We have not found this to be a problem for motivated individuals.
Compensation:
Trainers receive a flat rate per class, plus a per-person bonus. Trainers receive a percentage of their hourly private training rate; this percentage will be determined based on experience and can increase based on performance.
Trainers are employees, not independent contractors, but will have a large degree of autonomy as personal trainers in terms of methodology, promotion, hourly rates, etc.
We are offer health insurance for FULL TIME employees and will be offering 401K retirement options for FULL TIME employees in the near future.

Basic gymnastics skills (tumbling, elemental ring work for a general fitness population) is desired.
You must be ambitious, enthusiastic, punctual, reliable and motivated to continually learn and improve. We are looking for a long-term commitment to working at NorCal Strength & Conditioning. Ideal candidates have an interest in developing apprenticeship programs, and educational material however this is secondary to competence as a trainer and being a solid member of the team. Management track opportunities exist for exceptional candidates.
Expectations and Details
Our trainers must be enthusiastic members of our team. We expect trainers to help maintain orderliness in the facility, answer phones, speak with walk-ins when appropriate and generally take an interest in being part of NorCal Strength & Conditioning.
The hiring process will follow this course:
1-CV’s will be received and reviewed.
2-Promissing candidates will be contacted via email for Skype or phone interviews.
3-References will be checked.

Additional Considerations
Chico, California is a small college town with a “laid back” vibe is and is consistently ranked as one of the “best places to live.” Housing is quite affordable, and the surrounding area offers a remarkable variety of outdoor and cultural activities.
If you meet the above criteria but desire a more urban location (Bay Area) please see the job listing by our good friends at Catalyst Athletics.

Sounds perfect! This would be a dream opportunity. If only Chico were in PA and not CA!
Brissia says
if only there was a spot for ‘easy-does-it’ trainer hehehe for peeps with fibro and such… but I dont think a BFA in Illustration or 6 years working in the video game industry qualifies me :\
Id love to be a motivational speaker though, Im already doing that almost on a daily wherever I go!!!
Good luck to all the candidates!
