MovNat Day 1-Tuesday
Richard did a fantastic review of the MovNat Awakening course he attended, make sure to check it out. I’ll try to not be too redundant but the Expansion course is similar in content to the Awakening course, so this is inevitable to some degree.
We kicked the day off with a hearty breakfast (eggs, bacon (gracias a Dio!)) and a nice salad. This after a full nights sleep that I think was really needed by several of the attendees, myself included. International travelers, and wacky travel happenings left several of us with less than adequate sleep on Monday when we arrived. We have people from Australia, Canada, the UK and the US.
We had some dodgy weather with cloud-bursts intermittently so today was a little easier than it typically is but it still contained plenty of content. We were assessed via a movement screen that covered all the planes of movement. We then took a crack at various tasks using only our own technique. Erwan explained that we would cover technical details later so we could compare our proficiency after coaching. Before we covered the technique Erwan put us through a session exploring “Perception”. This information would be so valuable to coaches and trainers and the folks in their care. Using various exercises we were able to get people aware of points of contact between themselves and the environment. This applies to everything from climbing to running to lifting logs. People that I would call “natural athletes” intuitively understand these concepts but some of these drill seem like a fantastic way to help people train and improve their natural abilities. I’m pretty excited about this and will be tinkering with it a ton when I get home.
More Tomorrow.

I’m interested in attending the August MovNat workshop if it will be held. I sent the form via the internet registration page on but haven’t heard anything back. Could you please ask Erwan if he will still hold the August workshop?
Thanks!

I remember reading about Erwan in Men’s Health. I tried his workout and was blown away. I can’t imagine how much fun that must be. Looks like summer camp for grown ups. Can’t wait for more!
