Here is an update for your information.
My wife and I “went Paleo” nearly two years ago. Last Friday I entered the World Bench Pressers and Deadlifters New England Regional competition in Portland, Maine. At weigh-in I was just slightly more than 191 pounds. I took first place in the Senior’s (less than 198 pound) class in the bench press and and in the strict curl competitions. My blood pressure is now at rest, normally in the 120/65 range.
My wife had “bought into” the Paleo way, big time. My success goes largely to her as she does 99% of the cooking. She has successfully made major changes in the way she prepares everything. Having always enjoyed cooking, she has found a new way to truly love it. She’s dropped a lot of weight also, and continually strives to improve the way she embraces the “Paleo” way.
My bench press established the “raw” bench mark for this new class in the WBPDL assocition. I will be stronger and lift more in June, thanks to becoming a Paleo convert.
