Servings: 8-10
Ingredients:
2 lbs lean ground beef
1 T. each of salt, cumin, chili powder, paprika, dried oregano and black pepper
2 cloves garlic – minced
2 tsp. read pepper flakes
¼ tsp ground red pepper
1 T. vegetable oil
3 cans (101/2 oz) diced tomatoes with green chilies
1 jar (16 oz.) salsa (fresh/homemade is best)
1 large onion, chopped
Instructions: 1. Combine ground beef, salt, cumin, chili powder, paprika, oregano, black pepper, garlic and red pepper in large bowl.
2. Heat oil in a large skillet and brown beef, stir to separate. Drain and add tomatoes, salsa, onion to beef – mix well and transfer mixture to crock-pot.
3. Cover and cook on LOW 4-6 hours
Notes: Reduce the red pepper flakes for a milder flavor.
