Hey Robb
Apparently Alan Aragon took issue with a few things in your T-Nation interview and sent out a review in his newsletter. I haven’t seen it personally but it’s being discussed on the gymnastic bodies forums. Apparently he cites some studies where people with gastro-intestinal issues clear up their problems by adding grains to their diet. I’m trying to get the member who posted about it give the references. You heard anything about this?
I know you’re a busy man but it would be cool to see more of you over at gymnasticbodies.com after things quiet down some. I noticed your a mod on the nutrition section but haven’t been over in awhile and with Ido not posting these days there is not really any authority on the nutrition boards right now. Anyways, keep up the brilliant, enlightening, and necessary paleo work!
Robb Wolf says
Jay-
Have not heard of this. Still boils down to “give it a shot, see what happens.”
Jay says
Nah, I feel better when I don’t eat grain. Just wondered if you had already debunked something like this.

These are the studies Alan used if you feel like reading/commenting.

Robb! This is awesome news! I watch Wylde on Health every week. They re-run it all weekend too, so hopefully you’ll get a decent reach from the media.
You might find this funny….last week’s episode was all about Vegetarian/Vegan nutrition.
PS: New site is wicked.
Robb Wolf says
Summer-
I saw last weeks show…seems we have no where to go but “up.”
Eric says
Wow, I guess I havent checked your site in a while because it is completely different!! Looks great, and I wish you success with your book.
Regards,
Eric

Hey Robb,
Did everything as requested, pre-ordered 4 of your books (in 4 different orders) back in late August. As of today, the still haven’t shipped. I know you have no control over that, but it is more than a little annoying that I could be reading your Paleo Solution now if I just waited and went to B&N bookstore the day the book was released. My friends who have done that say your book is awesome. According to Amazon, I should be able to verify that when my books arrive between Sept 20-25.
Robb Wolf says
Tom-
In no uncertain terms Amazon has shit the bed on this. They are woefully behind in filling orders and if they do not SEND the orders this week they do not count for the NY times bid this week. It appears hundreds if not a thousand or so books are waiting to be sent. They did not plan for this it appears…and they have automated so much of their operation there are few if any peeps to pester to fix the situation. On future books I may not utilize Amazon at all if this does not resolve favorably.
Jules says
Update on shipping: Charles and I both ordered over a month ago, and they arrived today! So the good news is that Amazon seems to be “getting there.”
Awesome stuff all around – good luck with the NYC part-ay tonight!
Kevin says
Been trying to get your book but nobody has it in stock. Did victory belt just not print enough? I was looking forward to reading it but at this point it is no where to be found.
Robb Wolf says
Kevin-
Not a problem on the print side, many outlets under-ordered.
Tane says
Robb,
Is this show available on the Internet?
In other news- Saw this article on the BBC:

Looks like your years of paddling may be result in catching the wave at the perfect time.
I am interested to see how Unilever turn this research into a marketable product, though. Paleo In A Can?
Perhaps you could “monetise” the Paleo by lining up a cushy non-executive directorship at Unilever?

Robb Wolf says
Tane-
Yea…they only get things partially correct but it’s bette than nada.
Tane says
Dude, it’s an “Health” section from the British media- “partially right” is how they roll.

I didn’t realize you were going to be in-studio. I thought it was going to be a call in segment. I could have brought fanfare and some Commodore 64 printed banner signs. That dude on the panel with you looked hungry.
Christian says
My guess, although I do not have the credentials, is that these people lack some fiber.
Robb Wolf says
Christian-
flesh that out for me.
Christian says
I’ve not reviewed the study, but this makes sense to me.
You eat a crappy diet with out fiber. You have gut issues.
You eat a crappy diet, with fiber. Your gut issues seemingly improve.
Thus one could observe grains, containing the fiber, improve GI issues, yet its the fiber not the grains which help aid in ones digestive track.
Robb Wolf says
Christian-
Not following this considering what we know about a host of GI problems including ulcerative colitis, IBS, and Crohns to name a few. Fiber is NOT the issue. Gut irritants are.
Christian says
I’m not arguing grains are good, in certain situations they can be better*, but not good. I love your book, just made my self a western omlet :). Day 2/30.
I wish to remain anonymous :) says
Robb,
The study was “Effects of anti-secretory factor (ASF) on irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). A double-blind, randomized study.”
I took a brief look at the study, and it appears that they were already grain eaters with IBS. For the study, they were treated with one of two grain based treatments. Regular grain foods or grain foods where the cereals of the active food were treated hydrothermally in some process (which I can’t find). Both groups improved, which somehow means grains aren’t bad for people with IBS.
John Devine says
Wow! Got the book yesterday – it looks great. First visit to the new site today – it looks amazing! Fantastic job on everything Robb. I truly hope the book is a great success.

You got to be in an interview with Hank Azaria! (the strength box dude looks just like him)

How about meditation with your spirit guide? That’s pretty intense.
