Hey everyone! I’m hammering on the book. I’ve decided to split the book into two parts, not just 2 books in 1. The first will be appropriate for the weight-loss/health and fitness crowd…something you could give to your mom or aunt and it will help them avoid metabolic derangement and autoimmune issues.
Book 2 will be written with the high-end trainer/medical professional in mind. Book 2 will NOT be appropriate for the general population.
Testimonials-
If you have followed the information on this blog, or some of my other writing and have results you are impressed with and would like to share your story…do it! Write it up, include before and after photos if appropriate. I know folks have put autoimmune issues into remission, improved performance and reversed metabolic derangement to mention just a few. If you want to share this information it would be fantastic support material for the book.
It is likely that this book will get some national media attention, if you want an alias please make that clear. Shoot your testimonials to the Contact form on the site.

Robb,
I think 2 books is a great idea. Will they come out at the same time, or will they be staggered? I am definitely looking forward to both.
robbwolf says
Ed-
Staggered. Unfortunately I will not be able to pull of a “Use Your Illusion 1&2” type of release.
Nathan Magniez says
Hey Robb,
Can’t wait for the book to come out…maybe I won’t pester you with a million questions every week, haha.
Anyway, just wondering if you had any thought on Zero Carb paleo eating (meat only)? Just stumbled upon http://girlgoneprimal.blogspot.com/ and thought you might have some thoughts on this type of approach and how it would affect a x-fitter?
I think I’ll stick with paleo (some cheese and whey protein) for now.

If you kept a few veggies in there It would be pretty much how I eat. I think it’s fine.

Any idea when it will be finished? I can’t wait!!

Can’t wait to READ YOUR AWESOME diet/lifestyle BIBLE… !!! It will ROCK and change the world… Paleo boy, please give birth to it… SOON. *haaa*
When I attended the Xfit nutri cert in Chico w/you and Nicki, I was only one month gluten-free but knew I was on the right path after reading your blog, talking to my Xfit trainers (Jeremy and Luca!!). It took 6mos before I implemented some saturated FATS as you HIGHLY recommended, endorsed, and thoroughly discussed during the certification…
Travis told me to update you… ok so finally we added 2 Tbs/person of coconut oil daily to our cooking and diet and continued the low carb Paleo thing. Guess what? My HDLs went out the FRACKIN ROOF.
To recap with vit D (blood level 25OHD = 70s ng/dl which btw CURED my asthma and moodiness and increased strength/power/endurance), my HDLs went from baseline 60-70s to 90 mg/dl. Then after only 1 mon of high saturated fats (~18% of diet), my HDLs went to 105 mg/dl!!! Thank you Robb so much for that PHAT shwingtastic tip. I should really get an updated lipid panel (and remember, don’t forget to forward me yours Mr. BF < 10%, 6-pack abs, cut and so HAAWWTT Paleo BOY). I had to go VERY very low carb, ketogenic, when I had an insulin resistance issue (due to lame-o birth control, why do synthetic hormones ALL S-U-C-K !?) but finally my BF is < 20% again and my abs are re-emerging. Insulin resistance is the most terrible thing on earth.
Here are my HDLs and other Paleo lipids…

Thank you Robb and Nicki! You GUYS rule the Paleo/Xfit universe!!

I’m salivating over the second book. In a month, I’m sure I will have produced some testimonials from my own FRAT 30 day Paleo Challenge. You and Melissa Byers were my inspiration. I have the ability to change lives, and that’s what I set out to do, starting with mine first!
Here’s my blog link:

Thanks for everything you do, Robb, and personal thanks for inspiring me to take a closer look at my clients’ nutrition. You’re the man!

Thanks for just giving it a shot. It’s not magic, but it sure looks like it! keep me posted on your progress.

Hey Robb,
I’ll put together a testimonial for you over the weekend.
Another pesky question for you…
Is it possible to be very lean and still have insulin resistance issues?
I hover around 5-7% body fat without any problem, but I notice that any fat I do have is in the area around the top of the hip bone. Wouldn’t this suggest an insulin issue or is general leanness a better indicator? I also get some wicked carb cravings…
Any thoughts?
robbwolf says
Chris-
Yes, leanness can actually go too far for a given individuals situation and we can see low overall bodyfat, but an accumulation right at the bread-basket. Art Devany has written about this in the past, you might dig through his archives for more details. Lack of sleep, too much cardio can tip this over QUICKLY.
Ivor Biggun says
Robb Wolfe whom are yee kidding ?
I followed his nutrition and exercise regime to the letter and now weigh 753 pounds.
Fair enough i might have lost 350 pounds but its not the point is it ?

Hey Robb,
Looking forward to the book. I noticed Grace mentioned something about curing asthma with vitamin D. I have been eating mostly paleo the last couple of months and have noticed a decrease in my symptoms. Whenever I cheat I tend to get more symptoms again, have actually had to bail part way through a couple of workouts which has never happened until recently. Was just wondering if you have anymore info on alleviating asthma symptoms. Symptoms had been fairly minimal since I got my fat ass back into shape, although the reemergence has been a bit troublesome. Thanks for any insight.
Scott
robbwolf says
Scott-
cordain has a paper on asthma and paleo, check that out. The main features I’m aware of are:
1-acid base balance. We need more magnesium and potassium (fruits and veggies) and less sodium (mainly the chloride part of table salt)
2-Vit-d.
3-systemic inflammation. Insulin and omega fats play into this.
Paleo tends to fix all this. The vit d is tough to get unless you are routinely eating organ meats.
Chris says
Hi Robb
Just re-read the ’42 ways…’ article to find out more about weight gain (i am a fine example of a SBWTBH dude) and saw that 5XF is the way to spare protein etc. You advise to ‘chew your shakes’ which i don’t get? What does this mean?
Cheers and good luck with the book(s)
Chris
robbwolf says
Chris-
We do not digest things if we just suck them down. Chew your shake and you will digest it much better.
Kristofer says
Any tentative titles in mind for the books?
robbwolf says
Kristofer-
Not yet! I’m about to panic on that topic…

Hey Robb
Do u know any remedies for toe nail fungus i have been gluten and dairy free since feb 09, i understand this is a fungus with in the body
Thank u
Jeremy
robbwolf says
Jeremy-
Get a large tupper wear container (big enough for your foot to rest in) fill wil white vinegar, soak foot in vinegar 3x/day for 10-20 min each time. About a month later you should be good to go. Store container with lid on and change vinegar every 4-5 days.

Scott….erratic blood sugar if i read it correctly(which i might not have done) leads to less than brill eicasenoid function and so allergens more easily affect the system.
When i used to drink juice my Mums cats would have me all a quiver. No juice no quivering..as pleasant as it was on the inside of the thigh !

Robb, sorry I feel like an idiot, I did NOT see this post before I posted my long comment to your subsequent post on Type 1 diabetes. I guess it’s still relevant and all, but it seems you were asking for that kind of info here.
Cash Reynolds says
Also, I excised a few sentences from the comment and was going to drop them in email but I guess I can do it here, you’ll still get it all the same…
…
One of the things I’ve had a really hard time learning, and accepting, is how radically and thoroughly true this YMMV, Your Mileage May Vary, notion is. I experience hardships with my diabetes that most type 1s do not. Who’s to say if intermittent depression results from the insulin therapy, or I would have been this way without the diabetes? Yes, I can see it onset if I switch to a different insulin – Lantus – and the depression and intermittent vacuousness and lethargy started with my insulin therapy, whereas before my diagnosis while I was a student at Cornell, I was a consistently high-performance, manic powerhouse, from age 14-20.
Another questionable effect of my diabetes & insulin therapy — muscle. I was always strong and stocky. But I have NOT been powerlifting for the last 8 months. I did 2-3 back squat and deadlift workouts about 8 weeks ago, and suddenly my pants stopped fitting. My weight jumped from 208 to 217. It is annoying for people to look at my 235 lb shoulder press (ok that was a freak incident, but it’s consistently 225 lbs) and attribute it to insulin. What can I say? Nothing. I don’t know the truth.
