When “One Size Fits All” Paleo Stops Working

It’s safe to say that the “Paleo Movement” has taken off.  What started as a relatively small bunch of ‘reformed Zoners’ and ‘ahead of their time meat lovers’ has evolved into a large group of people dedicated to performance, health and longevity.  The overall ruling concepts of Paleo are pretty much the same across the board – and like any diet or training program getting started is the hardest part but once you’re in, results will follow – at least for awhile…  But in time circumstances and needs change.  Your body adjusts and what worked once or for awhile may not be the answer anymore.  Lucky for you Robb has put together a team of “Paleo Pros” that he trusts, to help you no matter where you fall on the Paleo spectrum.  These three gals love food, love Paleo and love helping people! They are some of the first RD’s to understand how powerful Paleo is.  To make a long story short – these gals know their stuff – and can help you no matter what your Paleo experience and knowledge level.  Whether you are a Paleo beginner, hardcore endurance, strength, CrossFit, or ‘everyday’ athlete, have a complex health issue, want to improve body composition, or just need to ‘fine tune’ a little bit – Robb’s “Dream Team” of Paleo Registered Dietitians are here to help you!!  Read what each of them has to offer, (seriously though – you are in GREAT hands no matter who you choose!!) and let one of them find the right “Paleo size” for you!

Here’s the “Starting Line-up”:

“All-Star” Amy Kubal, MS, RD, LN

Amy has been in the “Paleo Game” for quite awhile. She specializes and works with a broad range of clients; competitive athletes – (Olympic rower Ursula Grobler, two time Kettlebell World Champion Lorna Kleidman, numerous IronMan triathletes, professional bikers, marathoners, CrossFit games competitors, MMA fighters and more), those looking to optimize body composition – (whether it be leaning out or becoming ‘mass-tastic’), those managing or recovering from autoimmune and diet related diseases (cancer, diabetes, heart disease, IBS, renal failure, lupus, etc.).  Amy is up to the challenge no matter what it may be!  Additionally, she is currently the consultant dietitian for Joe Friel’s TrainingBible Coaching, The Whole9, and Boot Camp Pasadena. She writes for Paleo Magazine, The Racing Post, contributes to numerous blogs and is the director of Robb’s RD Network.

Amy understands that everyone has unique needs and responds differently to diet, training, and recovery.  Her nutrition plans and counseling techniques are tailored to meet individual needs, schedules and lifestyles.  She will do everything she can to help you reach your full potential!

“Sure Shot” Stephanie Greunke, RD (Written by Stephanie!)

While Stephanie enjoys working with individuals at all levels, she especially likes working with those at the beginning and intermediate stages of fitness.  Her expertise lies in getting individuals mentally committed to sustaining healthy lifestyle choices through diet and exercise.  Her approach focuses on both the physical and mental aspects of health in order to help people get their heads in the game.  This style has worked for busy single parents, traveling business professionals, college students, and many other groups who may need that “extra push.”  She has a broad background in nutrition, when combined with an understanding of the psychological components of wellness, works well to maintain sustainable dietary change.  She also enjoys working with pregnant women, children, individuals with food allergies, and the geriatric population.    No matter where you are at with your level of physical activity or nutritional knowledge, she can design the right path to maximize your Paleo potential!

“Energy Ace” Elizabeth Legg, MS, RD (Written by Elizabeth!)

Starting with the big picture and working down to the finer details, she will help you meet your goals.  Her specialties include healing diet and lifestyle induced disease, leaning out, fueling athletics, and tackling dynamic environments such as the home kitchen or the worksite that need a little work to support your transformation.  Check in with Elizabeth and get the tools you need to make a good life great.

Sounds like a great team. When I started eating paleo, after ditching grains it took a long time to figure out exactly how little fruit I needed to limit my consumption to (I do best only eating berries) and exactly what quantity food I needed to eat to be able to lose weight. We are definitely all different and it can be a challenge to figure out what works best for our body. Nice to see Robb has a team of support for his readers!
