This week I talked with one of the podcasts most popular guests, Jason Seib. Jason is a strength coach with more than a decade of hands on experience working with clients from every walk of life. Jason has developed the Altshift program which is a marriage of his clinical experience and deep knowledge of evolutionary psychology and biology. We get pretty geeky! Talking about optimum foraging strategy, the dopamine reward pathways, but we also talk about the practical steps anyone can take to affect lifelong health and body composition (fat loss, muscle gain) changes.

I’ve been enjoying the Paleo Solution podcast for some months now – I look forward to when new episodes come out. I am a late comer to both podcasts and paleo. June of 2014, I went paleo/primal, and had dramatic weight loss (30 lb in 3 months). Total loss was 52, but a change of jobs, longer commute, and stress gave me back 26. I’m trying to get back into my old, successful habits (more walking primarily). My motivation to change diet was my daily heartburn. I heard Mark Sisson on a podcast, he made sense, so I picked up his book. I dropped grain-based foods, because it did seem that I was sensitive. I didn’t have to expend any willpower resisting donuts anymore, because I saw them as poison. I used to cram them in my mouth… I guess that it’s a shift in perspective. Donuts don’t tempt me, because they’re simply not an option, hence no decision on my part. Oh yes, no more heartburn period, and the number of headaches have been cut down from 2+/day to 2+/week (though increasing lately – got to track down the reason)
