I have been on your Paleo plan for six weeks now… I was diagnosed with T2 diabetes 18 years ago, have mental health issues, and have generally felt unwell since my last son was born 18 years ago. Despite my best efforts, my blood sugar numbers were very high for three years (150-400) and nothing I did (or was ‘recommended by my doctors’) helped. I am 5’4″ and weigh 186lbs.(pre-plan weight). I am 55 years old.
My doctor had me following a strict vegan diet.
Three days after starting the Paleo plan my blood sugars were COMPLETELY NORMAL! My (new and more open-minded) doctor has directed me to stop the (short term acting insulin) Humalog that I was injecting four times daily, and has reduced my (long term acting insulin) Lantus injections from 60 units to 30 units twice daily. I have been steadily loosing approximately five pounds per week. Not only that, but I have been able to discontinue two of my psych medications.
I no longer suffer from: insomnia, IBS, heart palpitations, adult acne, menopausal symptoms, fatigue, headaches and migraines, sore and swollen gums, arthritic symptoms, dizziness, severe nausea, hallucinations, depression or mania. I feel like I am 25 years old again! I have limitless energy, am calm and serene… and I feel like I have begun a whole new life. My brain is no longer in a ‘fog’ and am accomplishing mental tasks I haven’t been able to do for over 20 years. And one of the best things is: I no longer crave sugar or carbohydrates! I am no longer constantly hungry (yay!)
Everyone who has talked to me about the Paleo Plan has said that I am on “the most expensive diet in the world”. Oh so not true! My food bills have decreased by at least half, which is great because I only receive $733 each month on Social Security disability payments. Grocery shopping is a breeze! I now only have to cook twice a week. Clean-up is almost non-existent. I don’t eat out often, but I have discovered that most restaurants are eager to modify their menu selections for me.
Robb, thank you from the bottom of my heart! I can’t express how grateful I am to have been working the Paleo Plan with such astounding ease and success. I am now in control over my life and my physical well-being. My family thanks you too! They are sooo glad to see their mom getting healthy and fit – and they are no longer worriying about all of the complications (from the diabetes) that were certainly in my future. I have confidence that I will live to see grandchildren and be a fun, active grandma.
Again, thank you so very, very much.

Judye, wow, I am so happy for you! I love hearing success stories like yours. Not only are you losing weight, but you are getting healthier and you feel amazing! I managed to clear my skin of cystic acne, as well as dramatically improve anxiety and digestive issues by switching to a paleo lifestyle. I was always a pretty healthy eater, but didn’t realize how much grains and dairy were affecting me. And I agree, you don’t have to spend a ton of money to eat well. Really proud of you. What a great example you are setting for your family!
