Just wanted to let folks know I’ll be interviewed by Sean Croxton of Underground Wellness. This is a live call-in show that is airing this Wednsday, September 1st at 5pm PST. The call in number is 347-237-5608. You can find that number and show information here.
I’d love for folks to call in obviously, but I’d also like folks to post questions for Sean to ask me during the show. Just post those to the comments and if it looks interesting I’m sure Sean will give it a shot.

I posted one on Sean’s FB page but here’s another in case you need/want it. I think you’ve talked about this a bit before (ie: missing a gall bladder), but it’s a good one for the masses I think.
When does a Paleo diet NOT work?
Presuming the answer is pretty much “never,” what would some cases be where modifying it (ie: watching high protein or high fat intake) would be necessary based on the person’s health/medical situation?
Looking forward to hearing the show. If I can listen live, I will!
D 🙂

can’t wait for the show,
something i think that might be cool to disscuss are activites that are glycogen dependant Vs those that are fueled by fat/ketones and also insomnia and all possible root causes of it… perhaps? =P even if they don’t pop i’ll still enjoy the show (theres probably a question i’m forgeting to ask that some clever clogs will pop)

Hi Robb and Sean,
My question is, when will someone know when they have switched from a primarily glucose burning metabolism to a fat burning metabolism?
Also, are there any signs or symptoms that would be a clear indicator someone has begun to reverse the metabolic derangement they have accrued from years of poor training and a typical american diet? Or is this a look, feel and perform kind of deal?
Robb I hope you can post a recording of the show.I know a few of us from Maine won’t get to hear it when it airs.
Thanks,
Zane

Robb and Sean! I have been following both of you for a while now! Appreciate all you do! I can’t wait for the show!

Rob, love the podcast, can’t wait for the book. In the past ( crossfit radio and pmenu message board) you you were a big proponent of creatine as a basic supplement but in 42 podcasts you have not mentioned it once. Do you no longer recommend creatine as a basic supplement?
Robb Wolf says
Pat-
No, I like creatine.

Robb, I’ve spent the last week traveling and finally getting the opportunity to catch up on the podcasts. You said in episode 30 that you really wish that there were a better educated group of doctors and nurse practitioners to help out with some of this stuff (you were talking about Type I diabetics at the time).
I know that it would likely be a ridiculous undertaking, but are there any plans, long or short-term, to compile a list of GPs and NPs that aren’t completely uneducated as to what we’re doing here, as a resource for your followers?
My sister recently got out of the hospital with a bunch of gastro problems, and refused to listen to me when I said that eating saltines, toast, jello and popsicles wasn’t doing anything to make her stomach better. I almost declared a victory when she agreed to take my box of coconut water, but the nurse later told her that it was unacceptable, “because it wasn’t a clear liquid.” No, I don’t have a medical degree…but any doctor or nurse that tells me that HFCS in the form of a popsicle or jello is better than coconut water makes me want to scream. (The diagnosis was eventually ischemic colitis, btw, and gluten wasn’t even discussed as a possible cause)
Anyway…my mother and I want to switch GPs, but really have no idea where to turn. Thoughts?

Hey Robb,
I had a question for you that is not so much related to health or fitness per se, but is just as worthy of your paleo (and professional) insight.
I was wondering, for someone interested in becoming like an all-around “wellness coach”, with combined nutrition and personal training type certifications, what specific organizations/certifications/general routes do you recommend seeking? I am thinking of doing the Institute for Integrative Nutrition’s program… are you familiar/fond of this organization? I want something that I can freely apply my paleo perspective to, but also maximize credibility.
Also, as far as PT programs, what do you think about NASM and/or NSCA certs? I’d really appreciate any insight you can offer.
Thanks!

I’ll definetly tune in to the show…one question I have that probably fairly “rudimentary” compared to what you are used to:
“I have been listening to a lot of pod casts and reading articles on the Weston A Price website and one thing they seem to reccomend is a good salt intake to make sure the Hydrocloric acid in our stomachs stays potent to protect the lining of our gut…specifically in terms of parasites. I do drink raw milk from local grassfed cows for some extra fat and calories, so I thought it was an interesting point. I generally tend to avoid salt, but I am wondering your thoughts on salt intake as it relates to electrolyte balance as well as stomach acid potency.
Sean says
Thanks, Robb! Looking forward to the show!
I’m also looking forward to asking you all of the great questions your readers/listeners post!
Talk tomorrow!

sorry i forgor ro add, i heard Robb talk about it a little bit in a previous podcast, about the Leangains program with Martin Berkhan and this whole concept of the bulk of your calories being consumed post workout, i went over to the lean gains site and it seems like these men eat an UNHOLY AMOUNT OF FOOD! whats up with all that! would love to hear your thoughts, suggestions and possible reccomendations for something like that.
Thanks so much

Sean posts all of his webcasts on his blog and also they are available on iTunes. His show is usually very interesting – he had Dr. O’Bryan on about problems with gluten.

Robb,
The interview was awesome….your getting the “elevator pitch” down pretty damn well. This is the one I’m gonna have clients listen to for the basic info…and with luck then they’ll read your book.
Robb Wolf says
Thanks Cliff!

Robb-
You discussed it on the show, taking HCL. To kickstart the digestive system? Can you explain it a little more, what brand do you use and when before meals, after.? How often, just when you feel stressed, or maybe ate something off the paleo diet? Is it in your new book?
The calculator for fish oil (EPA/DHA) ,on your web site, was very helpful.
Thank you
Karen
