The Road Forager: 7 Mares Soup, Santa Cruz CA

I forget the name of this Mexican food place…if I remember I’ll update. I grabbed a HEYUGE bowl of seafood soup(crab, shrimp,clams, several fish) It was awesome! I asked for a side of carne asada, two sides of avacado and two whole limes. It was amazing!

    I was at the nutrition cert over the weekend and remember you mentioning this meal. I thoroughly enjoyed the lecture and the way it was presented. It is great jumping off point into a whole new realm of research. I look forward to a nutrition level 2 if you ever have one!

      Funny enough, I saw Stephan Lanka (one of the original “Virus Myth” proponents) speak in Seattle around 2000. It was an interesting presentation…the main take-away that the HIV virus has never been isolated or propagated into another organism…this is some standard stuff in biology for establishing if a certain bacteria, virus, parasite is actually the causative element in a given disease. virusmyth.com had not been updated for years…I thought it was kind of a dead topic but apparently not! I’d really have to research the issue more to be able to weigh in on this.

      Word from HQ is that I dabble in pseudo-science (the paleo diet, for example) perhaps I should adopt some other fringe scientific views to round that all out!

  5. Sabin…….Robbs a science bod true and proper i’m more a generalist.

    A few pals who are Prof at Ivy League when asked by me a coupla years ago about this say its mostly gibberish albeit sometimes spoken by folks who should know better..or maybe they do.
    Bill Hamilton was a great in science (kin selection and all that) and he certainly believed that the polio vaccine lay at the heart of SIV 1 and 2 getting passed to umans.Sadly he died of cerebral malaria that he caught in the Congo in around 2000 collecting samples.
    Also given that its believed SIV 1 and 2 have been around of course for maybe 10’s of 1000’s of years and umans certainly ate and eat things like Sooty Mangebays(spelling always wrong !) and that the SIV thus HIV would have been kept in fams or villages afore the advent of the petrol engine to spread to cities ( and latterly countries ) it’s not a huge jump to believe that the polio vaccine AND eating Sooty’s could have both happened.
    Strongly suggest you read The River by Ed Hooper.Doesnee matter if you don’t ascribe to the polio vaccine thrust.It’s the authorative narrative on the spread of HIV and its history.

    It was awesome having you here for the Nutrition Cert at Santa Cruz Central. I am fired up on the Paleo Diet.

    Here’s the thing: YOU HAVE TO REMEMBER THIS MEXICAN PLACE!!!

    I have been totally craving Mexican Food, and if it is awesome, how is it possible that I am not aware of it under my own roof? LOL

    Any physical description of the building and surrounding neighborhood would be helpful (I am fairly adept at playing detective).
