Hey, Robb,
Thanks again for the excellent and informative cert, especially taking your time after to answer my wife and I’s questions. You are one frakking brilliant guy!

Excellent day, learned a ton, great speaker, I could have spent a couple of more days listening to you Robb. I have been zoning ever since a level one cert in March, after today it is time for Paleo and some fish oil…..a great inspirational day, THANKS
Rich

Thank you so much, Robb! The cert was truly amazing, even with having a very solid understanding of the philosophy and science behind zone and paleo before as a chiropractor and as a xfitter for almost 3 years. I really appreciated your time spent answering our questions, and feel that I’m on a much better path for my own nutrition, as well as for what we teach our patients. The nutrition workshop I now teach is going to be completely revamped with all this new information, and I ate meat for the first time last night in 17 years-holy crap!
I remember when I chose to become vegetarian in 1992 and how I truly felt about changing my diet at the time, and I feel the same way about going paleo-no gluten, no dairy.
A quick question……with caffeine, do you do coffee/espresso black? Is Lactaid acceptable to put in it? (Think I already know what you’ll say with this one).
Thank you again for the cert-phenomenal!

Karen!
Thnk you for the kind words. If you can think of ways I can improve the cert and make it more valuable, let me know. Let me know how this goes for you…it’s and experiment of N=1. If you do not look, feel and perform better…well, you know the drill!
I tend to do espresso/americanos straight OR with whole (ideally organic) whipping cream. It has very little dairy protein in it and subsequently less of an insulin response.

Phenomenal seminar, Robb!! It’s the one cert I’ve been killing to get to, and it was totally worth it. I wish I could drag every client, friend and family member to one to change their views on “healthy” foods. I feel well-armed enough now to hopefully empower clients and get them on the right road.
I always look forward to your posts, and your book in the future. Thanks again!
BTW: The NorCal Margaritas rocked!!! Easily my new fav drink—myself, David, and Ryno crushed a “few” last night at various establishments on Whyte Ave, and feel like a million bucks this morning.

Robb,
Thanks again for such a great cert and all the additional reading material provided in your course pack…was up late hitting those sites/readings.
Hope you’re back soon ‘cuz we would love to have you again!
Thanks.

Thanks for the feedback, Robb! Just tried the expresso with a little whole whipped cream-wow! It’s like rocket fuel, but will allow me to have my caffeine, so I’m in.
For how to do cert better….dude, it’s so good the way you do it now. I agree with someone’s earlier post in that I could do a 2 day cert on this stuff-loved it.
What does paleo say about wine? Is gluten free beer ok, or still some sugar in that?
Thanks again, and Ed will be in touch with you soon.
robbwolf says
Karen-
The cream works as a lipophylic carrier…it sneaks a whack of the caffiene into your system without a pas through the liver. hence, rocket fuel! For booze, I like the NorCal Margarita best (tequila, juice of one lime, splash of soda water) then dry wine, then gluten free beer. I LOVE beer but I’ve had several people report significant GI problems even with the gluten free beer. I seem to do “ok” on it but I feel better on tequila. go figure!

Thank you for the excellent nutrition seminar. It was the first real one that I have been to, and I learned a ton. It was nice to finally learn why grains/gluten is bad for the system. I heard it said often but never really understood why until your seminar. I am on day 3 of the gluten-free paleo diet, and so far, so good.
Thank you.
Marnie Mills says
Can I get the recipe again for the Norcal margherita please?
robbwolf says
Marnie-
2 shots of GOLD tequila, juice of 1 lime, splash of soda water.

Hi Robb
Thank-you for an informative, FUN nutrition cert.:) AMAZING!!!! OK so does that make me a geek, lol 🙂 Two days would have been great! I have read several books (Zone, Atkins etc.) ,researched the G.I. and I learned MORE in your seminar than all the information I previously studied. Since nutrition has always been a passion of mine, I wanted to become a dietician years ago but did not believe in following the 4 food groups or food pyrmid. Thank-you for sharing your knowledge, I wish I could have brought all of our clients with me. So my question is how to implement all this knowledge? Where to start? With a Paleo challenge and offering consulting. How did you implement eating plans with training? Did you include this with the membership?
Another personal question as a fitness competitor I have been on a low carb, low fat diet for so long it’s hard to convince myself to eat fat. I would like to stay leaner off season. I picture yourself saying shut up and try 30 days Palo 🙂

Jolaine!
Thanks for the kind words! the FAQ has a ton of resources. In the lecture I mentioned a 30 food log and a shopping guide…you may need to edit the food guide, I was very snarky when I wrote it so it might need some toning down.
Now, how is it that you are eating BOTH low carb AND low fat. You can’t just live on protein!! I’ve worked with a few figure competitors and they run much leaner much easier on a higher fat paleo diet. Alena from Battle Born Crossfit has some good experience and is a sweety. contact her and just ask about how she used ot do things and how she rolls now. Tell her hi for me.

Hi Robb,
Just one more quick question. Are potatos ok? If there are a problem is it beacuse the also spike insulin levels?
robbwolf says
Marnie-
High insulin and some gut irritation issues but a MUCH better option than say a pancake made of wheat.

Robb,
Great documentary here in Canada was just on, called “My Big Fat Diet,” wherein a primarily First Nations community, Northwest Coastal, gave up starch and sugar for one year, returning to a more “traditional” diet. The amount of Type 2 diabetes in this community was phenomenal! The results of the study were nothing short of outstanding, but you already know the outcome. Worth a Google; on our Canadian Broadcasting Corp. (CBC) Newsworld channel and may be streamable. What are your thoughts on smelt fish?
Cheers!
robbwolf says
Trent-
Smelt=awesome. especially grilled.

Any plans to do a nutrition cert in NYC-area any time soon? I’ve read your site, paleodiet.com site, book, etc. Great stuff, just looking for a more interactive learning experience.
Thanks,
Jason

I think Mat and Bobbi will be out at Jason Ackeman’s place in Albany in Oct…check CF.com for that shortly.

Hi Robb,
I could not attend the course at Spark because I work on Saturdays, I really really wanted to go because I feel nutrition is what is holding me back. There are no books left in Edmonton on the Paleo diet, where is the best material I can find to start quick?
I am a carb-a-olic for sure, everything is whole grain but I just cant seem to get away from it. I attend Spark 5 days a week and cannot beleive how my body has changed, but now I know I need to eat better.
