This is part of an ongoing series of real life success stories from people all over the world who have been impacted by the Paleo lifestyle and The Paleo Solution. Read Alberto’s story below.
My name is Alberto I’m 22 years old and been living primal for a year.
At the end of 2009 I was at my biggest ever… being 5’11 and 270lbs wasn’t fun, I never really cared about the way I ate until I realized I was just too fat to do anything “normal”. Every time I went out with friends I would come back a few hours later absolutely destroyed and with sore ankles.
At the beginning of 2010 I moved to London and joined a gym aiming to lose some chub and regain my health back, for several months I followed the common wisdom diet of whole grains low fat and low calories. I lost some weight but I also lost my social life in the process, completely obsessed about food, counting every single calorie that went into my mouth. By the end of April 2010 and thanks to a friend of mine who recommended reading yours and Mark’s book I took a paleo approach to my whole life. I ran less miles and lifted more weights, I eat only REAL foods and also found my passion for cooking (I now make some really kick-ass meals :D). The after picture was taken around the end of summer – it truly says it all.
I love this way of living and the joy of nourishing my body with real food and nutrients (it’s incredible when you enter everything into FitDay and you find out that your mineral and vitamin consumption far exceeds your daily needs).
Would like to thank Robb and everyone in this ever-growing primal community for taking the time to research and open people’s eyes.
Keep up the great work,
Alberto

Nice Job Alberto!! It is SO much easier to hit all of your target nutritional values if you follow a paleo diet versus the standard american diet. Even with all of the enriched products out there, your best bet is always real food, especially those consistent with the paleo diet.
I’m glad to see you found a new hobby (cooking) while this transformation took place. Keep it up!
Alberto says
That’s the best part of paleo, when you plug in your daily meals versus what’s recommended by many doctors and so called experts it just makes you laugh. We could all save A LOT of money on health bills by eating the right foods. I’m glad Robb is trying to reach a larger group of people by switching his approach to seminars and stuff (get those docs involved!)
Thanks for your comment.

Thanks everyone! I’m loving this lifestyle and trying to get more and more people involved, once they start seeing results it’s a piece of cake! A friend of mine just stopped needing insulin (he’s type 1 diabetic) and feels like a million dollars. Weight loss is just a nice “side effect” of this. 🙂

Great job Alberto!! Can you go over in a little more detail your work regime and what it all entailed? I am curious.
Alberto says
Sorry for late response, been a bit busy!
I was lifting heavy 3x a week plus some HIIT thrown in whenever I felt good. Diet was 100% paleo, no dairy, no grains, no legumes, used some egg white powder to keep my protein intake high and the rest just eating when hungry. Also tried to concentrate most of my calories for the day pwo.
