Servings: 10+
Ingredients:
a) 1 large onion chopped
b) 2 slices of bacon
c) 1 bell pepper chopped (I like yellow)
d) 3 garlic cloves minced
e) 1 lb ground mild chicken sausage (any sausage will do)
f) 1 lb ground turkey or beef
g) 2 med tomatoes chopped (or 1 large)
h) 1 can stewed tomatoes
i) 1 tsp Chipotle powder (optional)
j) 2.5 tsp Chili powder
k) 1 tsp dried basil
l) 1 tsp dried cilantro or fresh
m) 1 tsp dried parsley or fresh
n) 1 tsp garlic powder
o) 1 tsp salt
p) 1/2 tsp pepper
q) 1 tsp cumin
r) 1/2 tsp cinnamon
s)8 shakes of hot sauce (i like tabasco)
t)cap full apple cider vinegar
u)as needed veggie broth but probably wont need.
Instructions: Brown a – d
Brown all meat in separate pan
Once a-d is browned add everything else including browned meat
Bring to a boil and simmer for at least 45 mins (two of simmering is better)Stir every 10-15 mins or so and enjoy. BEST after a night in the frig.
Notes: Been tweaking my Grandpa’s recipe for 10 years now. I am always making slight changes, no recipe is ever complete, but I really like this one and hope you enjoy it as well.
