If you want to sacrifice a little of your life and tune into Entertainment Tonight at 7PM PST you “might” see some folks you recognize besides A-list TV stars. Possibly food geeks and football players. Depends on what hit the cutting room floor. Also, on Thursday and Friday you can pick up a copy of Life and Style Magazine with the same potential. That’s all I can say about it right now, I’ll be able to flesh things out a little later.
Update: Here is a video.
Veronica says
You’re such a tease! 😉
Russ says
So I think I can spot John Wellbourne in the video unless it’s another freakishly huge person…but I cant spot Robb
Robb Wolf says
Russ-
I’m next to John but behind a decoration, you get a really good shot of Nicki and Kate bookending us.
Jeremy Jones - Diablo CrossFit says
I saw a rather large Frankenstein looking fellow when she was walking down the isle. . .

Glenn says
I don’t get it. What does that woman’s wedding have to do with paleo nutrition?
Anyway… I just signed up for the Arlington seminar. Looking forward to it!
Robb Wolf says
Glenn-
She married one of our partners in Paleo Brands and myself, Nicki and John Welbourn (and john’s girlfriend Kate) were invited to the event.
Samantha Moore says
What? Ahhh! (from your seventh listener).
Ankit says
Looks like Robb’s going Hollywood on us.. don’t forget about the little people Robb!
Ankit
Robb Wolf says
Ankit-
I still have no idea how I ended up there. I think they thought I was part of the catering staff.
Mountain says
For a second, I thought I saw you– but then, it turned out it was a 5-year-old girl.
ps– The “6 listeners” jokes are still funny, if only because of the effect they have on Andy.
Robb Wolf says
Mountain-
I’ve slid from being mistaken for a runner to a little girl. i think Seppuku after the book is a must.
Yea, we must continue to taunt Andy with repetitious crap!
Glenn says
Ah, congratulations!
Btw, I don’t know if you’ve already made plans for after the seminar, but I can recommend some good paleo-friendly restaurants in Arlington (and DC).

If you’re Jim Wendler big, a decoration cannot hide you from view.

Hey Robb,
Real fast YES or NO question, and from reading your posts daily it seems you dont get many! I was parusing Performance Menu and came across you had posted in regards to creatine.
“I REALLY like Creatine. If you search the CrossFit Message board you will find some pretty good threads on the topic. Why do I like it? Beyond its performance enhancing characteristics (of which ~25% of the populations are non-responders) Creatine has some interesting properties like decreasing oxidative damage (both from exercise and eschemia/reperfusion injury) and it decreases circulating cortisol levels and may increase growth hormone release if taken before bed. Not bad stuff when you consider it is nearly cheap as dirt!
Regarding dosages I would stick with an inexpensive monohydrate and go anywhere form 5-10g per day. As I mentioned above taking it prior to bed may be good with regards to enhancing growth hormone release. I do not see a need to load or take it with some kind of insulin spikker.”
Question is; do you still feel the same about creatine? I noticed the most was from 06 and in nutrion talk that is enough time to change an opinion.
BTW: Eye is 100% today. My doc. was amazed because it was such a bad abrasion, she even told me I was the fastest healer she had ever had in the office! She then asked me about my diet. We can all imagine how that went, but she was very impressed as was I.
Sorry for jacking the post. Thanks!
Robb Wolf says
Eric-
Yea, still like creatine and i had a similar experience with my Lasix operation. The doctor could barely tell that I’d had surgery. When I described how I ate he quipped “Wow, that totally makes sense.” Some of them get it!
Kari O says
Glenn — I’m interested in these Paleo friendly restaurants in Arlington/DC! I live in Palisades area and am always looking for new places. Thx! Kari
Squatchy says
Grats on the celebrity status, you’re a TV star now! *high five*
Speaking of creatine, I ran across this study the other day.
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/19741313
Any thoughts?
Robb Wolf says
Squatchy-
Pretty interesting. it would certainly help strength if we had better DHT.

Trying desperately to find a paleo-twist to this…
Anyway, I wonder if you can say anything more about the lasik procedure. What kind of operation did you get, and did it fix your vision completely?
I think it might be cool to get rid of my coke bottle thick glasses. I’ve not been able to cope with contacts due to dry eyes. On the other hand, I’ve been scared of lasik because it seems to exacerbate dryness in some cases. (I’ve not read up on the stuff for a long time though.)
Robb Wolf says
Christian-
John welbourn, myself and Nicki attended the wedding, that’s the “Paleo connection”.
I have LOVED my lasix. Dryness for me was a few DAYS. I know for a fact how I eat improved my recovery. The doctor was shocked with the lack of scar tissue.
Christian says
Thanks for lasix info/encouragement! I meant that I desperately sought to twist my Q towards paleo, but I now realize that I should have tried to weave in both paleo and celebrity weddings!
Justin says
Hey Robb,
Hope everything is going well for you, brother. Question for the podcast:
My aunt, who is in her late fifties, had her thyroid removed a few years ago. After some personal issues that resulted in her going on some corticosteroid (Prednisone) for a bit, she’s absolutely ballooned. She looks and feels waterlogged. But while some of it is the med weight, a lot of it is not–she was headed in that direction prior to her medication.
So my question is twofold:
1) Are there any modifications to the standard paleo script for someone w/o a thyroid?
2) As you can imagine, her conditioning level is nil. We were walking together 2x/wk in the winter and it was a struggle for her to keep up with my fairly slow pace. Adding some resistance to the walk a good idea now or is the added bodyweight (60-70 lbs) enough for the time being? Any creative conditioning ideas you have would be welcome.
Thanks for all you do!
Squatchy says
Do you think there are any safety/health concerns though?
Robb Wolf says
Squatchy-
YES.
Jake B says
Robb,
We have a client at our gym that is doing a 2 day 200 mile bike ride. Any suggestions on what food to bring on the bike? I know Dr. Cordain gives an estimated range, depending on intensity, of 6000 calories with ratios: 50% carb, 15% protein, and 35% fat. What foods would you suggest to help them get close to these ratios and calorie content that they could carry on them while riding. I’ve tried to talk them out of a race like this but people love doing crazy things. Any suggestions would be great.
Thanks,
Jake
Robb Wolf says
Jake-
Seems like pemican with dried fruit, diced jerky and coconut oil/gflakes owuld be good but if it;s over 80* F it will melt.
Ashley Mason says
Lasik was awesome, you have to be careful though because there are a lot of sketchy Lasik docs who have ruined lives. Make sure to get it done at a reputable place – I did it at Northwestern University / University of Chicago group north of Chicago, and haven’t regretted it for a moment since. Life-changing.
Oh that note of fast recovery, Robb, my docs can’t believe that I got over Valley Fever and Valley Fever Pneumonia in a mere 4 days last week. They are running extra tests because they aren’t believing that a 5 by 6 cm spot on my lung could be.. healed. I *might* have convinced one of them to read “Good Calories, Bad Calories.”
Can’t wait for your book.
Ash
Robb Wolf says
Ashley-
Valley Fever is NO joke. Glad you are doing better.

great publish, very informative. I wonder why the opposite experts of this sector do not notice this. You must proceed your writing. I’m sure, you have a great readers’ base already!
