Update: I received an email from what might appear to be a relative of Theresa’s who requested the screen capture with the emails be removed and the request for y’all to send them porn be taken down. I guess that’s bad form? Anyway, if Eddie and theresa are real people and want to offer something of substance, I’m game!
If I’m an idiot and made light of two (misguided) but otherwise reasonable people..apologies and, well, I never do things half assed.
Check out this screen capture:
Something about theresa stank from the first moment but I try not to be a dick and give folks their opportunity to voice an opinion but the complete lack of anything substantive should have been the give away. If you look under Eddie and Theresa’s names you will see their ISP number. They are the same which means it’s the same person, and a lazy person at that. Lazy, lazy. Lots of ways to cover one’s ISP tracks but this is good for setting a precedent here: If someone want’s to debate a point or thinks what I’m recommending is half baked, they need to post their own counter information AND a testable protocol. this keeps anyone interested in legitimate discussion and learning in the mix, and trolls do not get to waste my time. So, that will go up in the FAQ as an AUP dealio.
Theresa and Eddie: May you be circumcised by a thousand Desert Fleas. May a car-sick mongoose change the texture of your seat covers.

Damn Robb, you sure do your research. But then when you got two shits coming at you at once, especially on a topic which a lifetime or personal experience has seemed to make them so under-educated in, I guess it didn’t take you much to figure this one out. Diabete’s by any name or Roman Numeral Type is still a classified disease, and if a doctor can “treat” it, then I’m sure there’s someone who can prevent it or control it even better.
Thanks for all your insights Robb. We’ll be down to see you next weekend and I’ve got a guy who’s got a complete medical mystery already set on paleo, and some of his conditions have already began turning around, and the others are hopefully on the way. His system got so overloaded with prescriptions that I’m sure it’ll take a while to kick some of those out and get his hormone levels back on track. But I have no doubt that with advice you have given me in the past, along with others who I’ve picked information from via your posts and recommendations, that he’ll finally be back to “normal” after 2 years of not knowing how in the hell to get better. And a whole slough of doctors as well.
Thanks Robb, see you in SD.

Robb,
ip address isn’t quite enough to establish that they’re one person. In most cases, employees of a corporation will share an ip address.
So, it’s just as likely that they’re co workers. That ip appears to be associated with a company called tetra tech which has offices accross California.
robbwolf says
Cameron-
thanks amigo. My google-fu is not that strong yet. Their writing is close enough for me and the same standards apply, folks need to bring something substantive to the discussion.
Mike Kesthely says
Ouch. Busted hard. Nice catch, Robb.
saulj says
Agreed, the same IP addresses don’t mean much BUT, it breaks down like this: No, Robb doesn’t, in every post, cite appropriate references. However, my doctor shouldn’t have to site references telling me why he/she thinks my leg is broken. If you have diabetes, your endocrine system is broken, by definition. You can verify this at your public library (or through Google) very easily in less than an hour. Robb’s posts assume that you have done, at least, minimal research. He shouldn’t have to post references to the contents of bio, A&P, etc. 101.
There are professionals, who understand how the body works at the “101” level (and much higher), who train (i.e. customer facing) at least 30 hours/week and spend the remaining 30 hours of their week running their business and/or getting better at training who read this blog. If you can’t cite, specifically, like your English 101 professor taught you to, your references, please don’t waste my time.

Robb,
Big fan, daily reader of your blog, and fellow paleo dieter. But, we need more FACTS. Gotta have da facts. Moving the mouse, opening a new tab, opening the reference site takes up too much initiative. 😉
robbwolf says
Sal-
Right you are sir!

Robb…I was a fan of yours before all of this started between you and “Ther-ddie,” but after that last post I am dually impressed.
Nice eye on the ISP #’s and maybe one of the best sign-offs I’ve heard in a while. Hahahaha
p.s. Sent you an e-mail about designing some Paleo software for you last week…let me know when you get to it.

Silver-
Will do!

I LOVE it. doesn’t anyone realize yet that Robb knows everything in the world? and what he doesn’t know Greg knows, and since they are practically one person, together they know everything. knowing everything is not something that needs to be cited. References need to only come into play when you are actually quoting another person or his or her ideas (in my opinion). People need to quite f’ing with you. FRACK.
robbwolf says
When Aimee Anaya (evereett?) speaks, it is as the gospel for me. Or something like that.
Congrats on the wedding you wild kids!!

The IP address and really lame writing and attempt to sound like two different people makes me think this is the same person.
So funny.

That was good enough for me too.

Nice work. Screw the haters. Plus, it looks like ole Eddie needs to invest in a spell checker. If you’re going to pop off you need to lock your shit up.

Hey Robb,
I’m off the subject here but I thought i’d let you know. Jackson Kaleo Pauly was born September 13th 2009 at 1:34 am. If you remember my earlier post You’ll recall that before Paleo I suffered from infertility, Now less than a year that Alisha and I attended your nutrition seminar in Flagstaff, we are blessed with a healthy baby boy. Robb we thank you from the depth of our hearts for your message and your commitment.

Robb,
I’ve been mapping some of my workouts. Our programming at the OKC box is such that are daily routine consists of strength training in the beginning then our MetCon WOD. I took my blood before the workout (107) after the Strength Training (126; the strength training was very intense but the volume was only 45 reps total) then after the WOD (202; the WOD was 10 rds of 15 DL-135# 15 Pushups ) then an hour later (245) then another 1/2 hour (190). I then ate my Paleo dinner but continued to lower (161) another hour later.
All that to say, I definitely see the benefit in strength training and low intensity MetCon’s. I’m even finding that taking an inverse approach to the workouts (high intensity/low volume or low intensity/high volume) allows me some leeway. Hopefully, I will continue to tailor the workouts to increase better blood glucose management.
Part of my problem that I am still having is that my doctors are still unsure whether I am a Type 1 or 2. My C-Peptides are in the normal range for a non-diabetic- they are just at the low end of that range. More or less, my doctors do not think its a problem to have these “momentary” high sugars from workouts, but I’m going to continue to try to keep my sugars in good range, because I don’t want to continue the damage on my islet cells.
Thanks Robb for all your insight and encouragement. I feel like I’m right on track with what you are saying. I just wish my doctors (the so-called experts) would give me the support that I need rather than just saying good luck and sending me on my way…
robbwolf says
Chris-
Interesting stuff. This kinda supports what I’ve noticed for a long time: folks can go really hard for a relatively brief time or MUCH easier for a longer time. The middle distance WOD’s that are a bit on the longer side but short enough to push hard most of the way are the ones that really dig a hole.
How old are you? I think I posted a little information in a combo form of diabetes seen mainly in kids and adolescents. Some elements of autoimmune type 1 diabetes and some elements of insulin resistant type 2 diabetes. Staffan Lindburg’s work looks at leptin dysregulation as a consequence of gluten problems. But hey, that whole lectin-disease thing is just pseudo science!!

Best, as always,

HA!
Thanks James! Ring me sometime today and we can talk creatine…I don’t see any problem with a weight loss program but one does retain a bit of water with creatine.
kari says
Hey Robb –
slightly off topic, but just as annoying as the trolls…
I’ve had a side cramp since Sunday morning – I had an In House crossfit competition w/ 3 WODs on Saturday and Finals Sunday.
Was fine Saturday…drank tons of water – almost 2 gallons.
Woke up Sunday w/ side cramp that’s stuck w/ me since. And it’s now tuesday…And Monday in addition to the side cramp, I have had water retention in lower legs and puffy eyes.
I’m thinking it might be too LOW sodium, since I don’t take in ANY sodium…and maybe had too much water and too much sodium loss in workouts?
Otherwise it’s a breathing issue, since I lean towards shallow breathing.
the only other thing that changed over the weekend is that I added 2oz of Yams after each WOD and after Sundays WOD I had 1 scoop of whey protein mixed w/ 25g of powdered brown rice (straight Carb) for glycogen replenishment…I haven’t been doing ANY starches for weeks.
I am taking the Iodine supp you recommended (150mcg / day)…but not sure that even applies to this.
any ideas?
thanks – you ROCK!
robbwolf says
Kari!
I need a little more info…where exactly is the cramp. When does it occur, severity, any situation in which it is not acting up (standing, lying, handstands!)
Low sodium would have likely drove you to eat some nachos or similar salty food. I doubt it was that.
Tristy says
Haha…nice catch, Robb! You are the man!
kari says
The side cramp: it’s actually on both sides right now. I’ve had it on the right side since Sunday morning when I woke up. Hasn’t gone away.
High abdomen, under ribs on each side right now. It seems to be there when standing and sitting. Lying down – just checked and its not as noticeable.
severity…ehh – not keeping me from doing anything. it’s not a sharp pain. but just noticeable on every breath.
puffy legs / eyes- still there…(but I’m on day 2 of cycle, so it could be blamed on that, although I’ve had this in the past when no where near cycle).
robbwolf says
Kari-
I’m stumped! Could simply be from the hard training. Out of my element here!
Roelant says
Buddy,
it’s a sad day indeed when you get accosted by sock puppets. I thought those were reserved for Internet forums but I suppose it was bound to happen to a blog (one of my fav ones too). Just keep doing what you’re doing man, I’ve referred a bunch of people here because you make things make a lot of sense for specialist and layman alike.
So say we all!

Andre says
Kari, go get it checked out by a doctor. If it feels like it is high abdomen (under ribs) it could be your lungs…could be hard to distinguish in this region. This is not to freak you out but it might be an infection. I had a sharp pain in what I thought was my upper abs (felt like a side cramp) but it could get sharp when I inhaled and would shorten my breath. Turned out to be a viral lung infection. It wasnt a big deal and it didnt last very long. Just go get yourself checked out.
