On a warm, late summer day, 18 years ago, two young women met for the first time in their college dorm-room. Both nervous and excited to be starting a new chapter at a competitively ranked University, they became fast friends. Both majored in computer science, and shared a love of Seinfeld, pizza, and Ben and Jerry’s.
Together they put on the “Freshman 15”, and then another 10 pounds during their sophomore year. By the time they graduated they were both nearly 40 pounds overweight.
After graduating the two women took jobs on opposite coasts, got married, and started doing all the standard adult stuff.
They kept in touch via text and social media…mostly Facebook and Instagram. They shared pictures of their growing families, their dogs (and a canary!), and more recently recipes and articles about the keto diet.
At this point both women had tried numerous diets and the promise of success on keto pulled them both in.
They were ready to make a change…
…both jumped in feet first.
That was 18 months ago…
Today, one woman is back down to her pre-college weight of 132 pounds and has more energy than she’s had in years.
The other is 6 pounds heavier than when she started keto…nearly 50 pounds heavier than her pre-college weight.
Why the difference?
