I just wanted to update folks on the pending nutrition certification/education material we will be offering. We still have a lot of work to do on the curriculum and infrastructure, but here is what things are looking like:
1-A general seminar for folks mainly looking for “how to” information but with enough science to put paleo nutrition into a good context. This would be fine for most anyone, regardless of science background.
2-A certification (pass/fail test) geared towards coaches, trainers and allied health professionals. Competence in basic biology, chemistry etc will likely be necessary to pass this course.
3-A certification (pass/fail test) geared towards MD’s, DO’s, DC’s and research scientists. It will be assumed that folks taking this route have a “very good” background in biochem, cell biology, immunology etc.
I’ll roll out specifics on the material and a timeline (hopefully) in a few weeks. For now I want to make folks aware of an academic “Gold Standard” we will use to provide a common framework for everyone taking part in this curriculum and that is the Evolutionary Studies program offered via SUNY New Paltz EvoS Program. This 18 unit minor offers a comprehensive introduction to the concept of evolution from an interdisciplinary perspective. The EvoS program will provide the “glue” for our education curriculum. Folks can take the coursework online (over the summer!) and upon successful completion of the program will submit a request to the Evos program director, Glenn Geher, to send confirmation of completion to us at robbwolf.com. Like I said, I’ll get the details up soon, I just wanted to let folks know about the EvoS program now so they can make appropriate arrangements if they want to start the program in the summer.
