Dave Werner doesn’t have a landing page up at Moveskill.com! He needs to fire his web developer! Missed opportunity for him. It just shows a bluehost screen.

Really interesting and well-timed episode–this aired just as I’ve been thinking about the topic of strength standards and how to be a well-rounded athlete. This podcast is such a great resource!
Leroy says
Great podcast, looking forward to checking out Moveskill.com when it is up and running. I just checked it out and the landing page is up and open for registration.

A really great interview Robb and Dave!
I also must say the audio levels and quality for both were excellent. Very enjoyable sound.

Oh-I also meant to comment on Robb’s frustration with the way a certain section of the internet crowd freaks out when he updates his viewpoints on things. Robb, I believe you might have a lot of listeners like me, who aren’t vocal on the internet, but really appreciate your ability to evolve and update your knowledge and recommendations. Failing to do so would be like digging a fire line and having it burn over, but continuing to concentrate all your resources on holding that line. Or something.
I love this quote on managing complex systems–this is from the annotated bibliography in Michael Crichton’s book, “State of Fear”:
Dorner, Dietrich. The Logic of Failure: Recognizing and Avoiding Error In
Complex Situations. Cambridge, Mass.: Perseus, 1998.
“What prevents human beings from successfully managing the natural
environment and other complex systems? Dozens of pundits have weighed in
with their unsubstantiated opinions. Dorner, a cognitive psychologist,
performed experiments and found out. Using computer simulations of complex
environments, he invited intellectuals to improve the situation. They
often made it worse. Those who did well gathered information before
acting, thought systematically, reviewed progress, and corrected their
course often. Those who did badly clung to their theories, acted too
quickly, and blamed others when things went wrong. Dorner concludes that
our failures in managing complex systems do not represent any inherent lack
of human capability. Rather they reflect bad habits of thought and lazy
procedures.”
-Michael Crichton
I’d say you’re in the former category, Robb…the ones who do well.

Just wondering where one can find Dave’s improved Athletic Skill Levels. Am I right in assuming that they will be a part of moveSKILL and the ones created in 2008 will fade away? Or are the new ones tucked away somewhere not so obvious? Any info is much appreciated!
P.S. Any time I can glean just a fraction of info off Dave and Robb, I consider it a great day!
Robb Wolf says
You will see those soon on the moves kill site.
