I spent 2010-2011 in Iraq. While I was deployed, I did cross fit regularly and managed to get in decent shape and lose some weight. When I returned home, I stopped working out as much, gained some weight, and was diagnosed with high blood pressure. My doctor told me I would likely take medicine the rest of my life. Shortly after this I found out I was pregnant. After my daughter was born, I had a hard time losing the weight. She was 8 months old and I still couldn’t fit into my pre-pregnancy clothes. I decided to try cross fit endurance. I bought the book, Power, Speed, Endurance. The nutrition chapter talked about Paleo and referenced The Paleo Solution. I decided to buy the book. After reading the book, I knew I had to at least try it for 30 days. My husband decided to join me. It wasn’t always easy, I had some major sugar cravings and it has been a challenge to figure out how to get all the cooking done. But a month later, the change is amazing. My husband lost over 20 pounds. I lost 17 pounds, 5.5 inches off my waist and 2 inches off my hips. My doctor dropped my blood pressure medicine by a third and it is still down from 138/90 to 112/74. I wake up feeling energetic, and I don’t have mood swings anymore. I found a couple farms close to my house, and we are now buying pasture fed, fresh meat and eggs. Both the ladies I buy from are eating a Paleo diet, and have experienced the same life changing results. I wish I would have read this book years ago!!

Testimonies like these are very compelling. I’ve never had any kind of urge to try crossfit, but I might have to look into it now.
