What 74 Years Old Should Feel Like

I was introduced to the Paleo diet by a friend of mine, the lady who owns the campground where I work each summer. She was so excited about the difference it had made for her. She has always been extremely active and very health conscious, running, bicycling, and moving all the time. This way of eating made her feel even better. I have always been active but was certainly beginning to slow down and not having the energy I wanted. I just figured this was part of “getting old.” My joints hurt and my hands were beginning to show the effects of arthritis. My knuckles were deforming and the pain in my thumbs was severe. My hips hurt and I could not get up from a squat without supporting myself.
My husband and I are “full timers,” meaning we live in our 5th wheel full time and travel to a campground in the summer to work. We have been doing this for eight years. We work 40 hours a week here in Estes Park, CO at 8,000 feet, not an easy feat being a flat lander.
So, I started researching, bought your book (and read it) and started the new way of eating. WOW, in just one short month I could really tell the difference. Although I did not really need to lose weight, I have lost 3 pounds, I have amazing energy, sleep so well, and my happiness level has reached an all time high, a real chatty-Kathy. I work 8 – 9 hours a day, five days a week, and still feel great (not a desk job but running around all day long). I have been on the diet now for two months and the swelling in my knuckles has almost gone away. I can actually open jars again, and the tendonitis in my elbows has resolved. I am so excited I want to tell everyone about this way to eat. This is the way “old age” should feel. I want to see my face on the Smucker’s jelly jar when I turn 100.
When I get my whole family turned on to this, my mission will be complete.
