I Like The Way I Look In The Mirror!

To start off, I am a 19 year old female in active duty service for the U.S. Navy. I have tried every diet in the world to try and improve my body and overall happiness with myself. I was sadly getting taped to pass my annual weigh-in because I couldn’t pass the scale, and I was tired of it. So my Chief of medical let me borrow your book, The Paleo Solution. No offense to you, but I found no interest in picking up that book at all. So it collected dust for about two months, and I gave it back, never even opening the cover page.

A few days later I saw an old dance mate from high school talk about paleo on Facebook, and I thought, ”wow, people actually have heard of this crazy diet?” So I started my research and ordered your book.. Once the book arrived I set out to start the very next day, I took my before picture and was ready to start! I work the night shift so I am in work from 1800-0700 so most of my meals are pre cooked at home and brought with me.. Which I have mastered. At first it was hard, I wanted every sweet they had set out, and all the pasta from the galley! You may think military provokes a healthy lifestyle, but my friend it’s the opposite! I am not sick from eating pastas, since I have no disease, but I was sick of being the fat girl in every group I was in.

So I focused on my eating habits since mine were so bad before, and my boyfriend really watched me and made sure I stayed on track. Next thing I knew I was 3 weeks in and I decided I would take another picture to see if I had any results, since the scale showed none. And holy Crap I saw a huge difference! For once in my life I saw a change in my body simply from my diet change. Not once have I seen this as a “diet”, but as a lifestyle change. I have been on paleo for the past two months now(on my own, modified for my life, not straight from the book), and my boyfriend had joined me seeing my results. I took another set of pictures at the two month mark, and I tell everyone about this diet. I have gotten 3 new friends to start it with their husbands.

This is the best thing to happen to me, and I couldn’t be any more happy with how things are going. Every time I look in the mirror I know that I like the way I look, and if I want to improve I just need to continue what I’m doing and let my body do the work I am allowing it to do now!     Looking good – just think what you’ll look and feel like after a year’s worth of Paleo! It’s so much more than that damn scale. Give the body the right inputs without the destructive junk and let its innate wisdom do the rest.

    damn, you’re looking amazing. The result is obvious. I want that book and diet now too. How did you manage to overcome all that sweets and pizzas? For 3 weeks you say..I don’t think I’ll manage to hold for one! Please, show more photos if you continued the paleo.

    Wow you look amazing! You look stronger, and leaner. It goes to show that the scale isn’t a very good indicator of health too. Anyway, keep it up!
