Hi. Don’t know why I am writing this other than I am compelled to do so. I have had a weight problem since I can remember. When I was growing up, nutrition was not taught or encouraged. So, I find myself 50 years old, several weight loss plans later, really, probably all the weight loss plans, and the heaviest I have ever been. Depression, back problems and high cholesterol. Something had to be done, I was miserable. So, while buying an ice cream maker from someone from Craig’s list, she told me about The Paleo Solution. Turns out she doesn’t need it anymore since she started Paleo, (I thought that was a new type of ice cream maker)! She explained the program and recommended the book and Robb’s web site. So, it’s been two weeks and I feel so much better! I have lost weight and really enjoy trying new recipes. I also found out I like sweet potatoes, who knew! So, anyone interested in a slightly used ice cream maker?

ice cream made with coconut milk and berries is darn good.

I agree. Paleo ice cream made with coconut milk and blueberries, strawberries or raspberries is great. Even made with mango is delicious. It’s just a little higher in the fruit sugars.

Make your own ice cream with dextrose & raw milk!

Where do you get the Dextrose?
Dave A says
I’d skip the dextrose – a lot of it is made with corn – and use the berries, or even apple, cinnamon, bannana, etc to add flavors and/or sweetness…think about it – paleo “chunky monkey” – banana ice cream, with just a few pieces of really dark chocolate chunks… 🙂 I’m sure berries would be a much healthier option, as banannas, though paleo, have a TON of natural sugar, but dang it would be a nice treat!

Great story, I try to spread the word about Paleo whenever I can. I even started a blog to help educate people on how to improve their health since I appreciate the person who told me about Paleo.
It is funny that you learned about Paleo while buying an unhealthy thing.

Congratulations Tina! Your comments about the ice-cream maker made me laugh out loud here in Starbucks! You’re funny.
I’m new to paleo too and love the sweet potatoes too. Delicious eh? The coconut ice-cream sounds so yummy. I tried Trader Joe’s coconut “yogurt” recently and it was yuck. Too sweet and gelatinous.
