Paleo Comfort Foods: It’s ON!

Hey everyone! The time is here and Paleo Comfort Foods is ready to be released. Well, we think so. You see, there has been a snafu on the release and we are not exactly sure when it will hit Amazon or Brick & Mortar stores. Sept 12th was the projected date, but things have gone a bit squirly and we are waiting to see exactly how this goes down. The reason this matters at all is we are pushing to make PCF a New York times best-seller and the pre-sales + first week of release slaes are critical in this whole process. Normally, the first week of sales runs Monday-Sunday, but if the book should start shipping on say Friday or Saturday, Charles & Jules effectively have only 1-2 days of “first week sales”. We are not sure how this is going to play out, but I’m goign to hump y’alls collective knee one more time to help push this amazing cookbook over the top:

1-If you are going to buy this book, please do it soon! As I explained above, every sale is critical and we may end up with a painfully abbreviated ”first week.”

2-If you buy multiple copies (like stocking up for holiday gifts perhaps?) please make each purchase separately. If you buy 10 copies at once it unfortunately only counts as a single purchase.

3-Tell people about this book!

We are REALLY close on this. We don’t know if books will ship Friday, Saturday or Monday, but we are hoping for Monday. Either way thank you to everyone who has and who will purchase this book! Also, once you receive your book, make sure to post a comment at Amazon. It really helps.

UPDATE!!

It looks like books are shipping TODAY, Friday the 16th. This is really not bueno as it leaves only today and tomorrow for “first week sales.” thank you to the folks who have purchased a book, for those of you considering Paleo Comfort Foods, please buy one soon.

Thanks Robb!! You just gave me the perfect idea for Christmas gift for my mom. she’s impossible to shop for & has been complaining about not knowing how to turn her comfort foods into “healthy grain free/paleo” stuff. I owe you one. -Kate

Is it really 336 pages? That’s what it says in the Amazon description.

Unfortunately I probably won’t buy it because I don’t seem to have have cravings for comfort foods, but I’m sure it would make a great gift! For me, I think lamb chops are about as good a comfort food as you can get =)

Hey Josh! Even if you don’t have comfort food cravings, we do have lots of sauces/appetizer/side ideas. The “comfort” food definition is subject to interpretation, and to us it’s really all about home-cooked, real foods! The curry might change your life (or bowels if your name is Robb Wolf).

Just ordered the book yesterday from Amazon…. I was hoping for a curry recipe!

My teenager is at about the 75% buy in on paleo eating so I ordered your book along with Sarah’s hoping that my daughter will start choosing recipes to try at home. My big triumph is that she now eats a home packed lunch each day instead of the USDA guidelines crap served at school. She was worried about looking weird for not eating the wraps or nuggets, etc and has found that other students are commenting on how good her grass fed beef and salads look! Win!

Thank you Robb, Nicki and all the paleo family for your support of this book! Now don’t forget that we get to thank you all by doing some fantastic giveaways…we’ve got a Titin Tech weight shirt, Penzeys spices, kitchen gadgets (one of which is perfect for doing those NorCal margaritas en masse), so come on by our site to enter these contests! Even more amazing stuff will be added next week too!

    Thanks to you ALL!

Ordered mine and told my sister who also ordered. Now I’m thinking I’ll order another for a friend who is just starting Paleo.

Thanks Robb for all you do!

Seriously, they can’t promise a release date? I’m starting to wonder if this is book bomb backlash. I’m ordering, no matter. I just wonder what the hold up is – this is a book people want to b.u.y. – that means m.o.n.e.y. – it’s confounding that increasingly some of the more anticipated titles seem to wind up in “not just yet” land. I’m hungry, c’mon!

Just ordered mine. Thanks to Podcast #95, hubby is willing to go gluten-free and maybe join me in the Paleo thing. My 8 1-2 year old daughter just asked me if she could be Paleo too. Now if I could only put some weight on her with Paleo, any suggestions?

Just ordered my copy. I’m in Canada, but I ordered from Amazon.com so that it counts towards total sales. I figure the more pale type books hit the bestseller lists the more people will notice and hopefully give it a try. On an unrelated note, I just discovered the podcast Robb, loving them! Thanks.

Let’s see if it succeeds, one day we see it in Spanish. My book of the year is called “The Paleo Diet” and see if the publishers are encouraged to bring this also to Spain, many people here we care about the Paleo lifestyle! :)

Question — do they just use real food and real recipes? Or is this all about how to make “Paleo” cookies using nut flours and that sort of thing?

      September 16, 2011 at 6:02 am

Real food – real recipes! There are very few ‘dessert’ recipes and lots and lots of meat and vegetable deliciousness!

I’m in the UK, does it help if I order from amazon.com instead of .co.uk? It actually works out a little cheaper (including postage) but should take a couple weeks longer to arrive …

Robb, just so you know that it wasn’t just shameless plugging, I actually wasn’t aware of this book until this post so for at least one reader this was a public service announcement. I’m psyched that this book exists… order placed.

Amazon is saying that the book is still on pre-sale and hasn’t been released yet. I’m going to get a copy anyway but I was just curious as to why it still said it was on pre-sale.

Mine arrived today also and I grabbed it from the postman, tore it open and settled in to read it cover to cover like a novel. I pre-ordered in July and hope that counted as first week sales. LOVE it! Can’t wait to try the recipes. This is going to be such a great tool in helping friends get over the feeling of deprivation in going paleo. A fabulous book. Now I’m on my way to Amazon.com to be sure THEY know how incredible this book is. Thanks to all of you for the work and inspiration.
