Quick question...The fish oil RX...is it one gram per pound of BW in order to change body composition and reduce inflammation?

Thanks

The low-fat garbage they spoon-fed us (pun intended) in the 80s and 90s is nothing short of criminal! There are many ESSENTIAL fatty-acids, but there is no such thing as an "essential carbohydrate." I've slowly switched over to a primal diet over the past few months - eliminating one thing at a time so mentally I don't give up - and I already feel tremendously better health and energy level. ...not to mention 11 pounds fell off without really trying. ;-)

Mikey-
I wrote an article about this for the Pmenu...the concept is called Hormesis. We need small and or infrequent bouts of oxidative (and other) stress. This is why loads of aerobics is not a great idea...swithcing up training and food optimizes all this. Also, the antioxidant systems in plants act in ambiguous ways in us...anti-oxidant, pro-oxidant...hormetic.

Hi Robb,

What do you make of this study showing vitamin intake has a negative affect on insulin sensitivity?

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/health/8043456.stm

As always, thanks!

Melissa-
(I remembered the double "s" this time!) You look to be right on course AND the whole thing should improve recovery. If you throw your fruit nearer to training times this will move things this direction also. If it's a hassle, no problem dropping in some fruit here and there...just something to tinker with!

I would buy a book called, "Robb Wolf: Eat me." I'm just sayin'.

For the first time ever, I am playing around with a PWO meal. (I've been training smack in the middle of my IF time, and even if I'm not fasting, I never bothered to eat right away.) Since I'm already playing around with where my carbs "go" in my daily eating, it makes sense for me to ask this question now.

The idea of NOT eating fat with carbs together is kind of a new one for me. I mean, I eat fruit +nuts + some protein once a day as a snack. So let me make sure I'm getting all of this right...

PWO meal = Half your day's carbs and an easily digested protein. (I'm currently doing a sweet potato or butternut squash and egg whites.)

Rest of your meals = Mostly protein and fat, and carbs in the form of vegetables. Not the sugary stuff either - the green, leafy stuff.

Is that right? And if so...where does fruit come in? I eat about two servings a day, things like apples and strawberries and pears. Can I throw those in with my protein and fat meals, or should I snack on them all by themselves?

Thanks, Robb.
